4 months old!

I'm getting to be such a big girl! I love to laugh, especially with my daddy and am pretty pleasant 99.9% of the time. I've been sleeping all through the night for a month now and mommy thinks its excellent. I've grown so much and miss some of my favorite outfits but then mommy breaks out something new, so I can't complain. Last month I got to travel to Florida and see the beach, meet my great-grandma and great-grandpa, and go to Missouri to visit lots of family. I also started eating "real" food a couple days ago. I definatly get more on my bib than in my mouth but I can tell the 'rents think its cute so I tolerate it for their sakes.

Mommy's started reciting a Bible verse to me every morning and night. I get a new one each month and she's writing them down in a journal for me to have when I get bigger, then I'll write and choose the verse myself. April was the first month...my verse was:

For you have been saved by grace, through faith - this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God. ~Ephesians 2:8

My May verse is:
But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. ~Matthew 19:26

1st Vacation!

We just got back from M's first vacation! We drove 9 1/2 hours to St. Augustine, FL for a wedding. It was a wonderful celebration (lasting 4 days!) and our friends are the most amazing couple! MMG also took her first boat ride and saw the ocean.

We celebrated 3 months last week although this was her first "birthday" without a cake or party. She had a doctor's appointment (for some icky scaly skin that I was worried about that of course was nothing...the 1st of many pointless trips to the doctor I'm sure) and is now weighing in at a whopping 12 lbs. 11 oz. We've almost entirely moved on to 3-6 month clothes. The 0-3 month stuff is just too short for her long little body.

She's "sleeping" through the night, as in she doesn't eat anymore until morning, but she does wake up every night around 4 a.m. to have a chat with herself. This of course wakes us up, too so we're hoping she'll stop being so social so early! When I go in to check on her she always greets me with the biggest smile and it takes all my willpower not to pick her up!

3 months old!!!

At 3 months I'm more fun for my mommy & daddy than ever! I love to laugh and smile, practice standing up, and kick and wave my hands around. I had a very happy Easter even though Daddy said I looked like Little House on the Prairie in my bonnet.

I also LOVE to sleep at night. I usually go to sleep around 9 p.m. and wake up at 4 a.m. so mommy can come put my pacifier back in (it's really just a trick because I miss her so much). But then I go right back to sleep until 6:30 or 7 a.m. Woo Hoo!!! ~MMG

2 Months and Laughing -- music to my ears!

Well, M laughed out loud for the first time yesterday. She had made little chuckle noises that I called laughs but yesterday she hee-hawed out loud over and over and over. It was VERY COOL. We were at her doctor's appointment and she was laying in just her diaper on the table. We had been waiting a VERY long time (that's the last time I go the the doctor after school lets out) and she had been so good. She was smiling and cooing at me, then all of a sudden...ha ha ha ha. It wasn't at all the sound I would've expected her to make, actually it was kinda awkward but to me it was a beautiful sound!

1 month!!!

Well, M had her 1 month check-up on Monday. She's doing great and weighs in at a whopping 9 lbs. 8 oz. That's a gain of 2 lbs in 20 days (J did the math and that's 1 1/2 oz a day). She also grew 1 3/4 inches in that time, too.

She's getting to be such a funny little girl. She actually cries "Waa, waa" when she wants some attention. We're enjoying the "real" smiles...the first one we saw was on the 26th. We still get the drunk, eye-rolling smiles when she's snoozin'. This has been a month that I can't describe with words. I can only say that we're blessed and can't imagine our lives without sweet MMG.!!!

2 weeks old!

I had my 2 week birthday today and it was a doozy! I slept, ate, and pooped, plus I had a check-up doctor's appointment. I weigh in at a hefty 7 lbs. 8 oz now and am getting a second chin.

I'm still wearing newborn diapers. I tried out the size 1's but they were just too giant and we don't want anything sneaking out the top while I'm snoozing. My mom's glad because she can't believe how fast I'm growing (plus those tiny diapers are just so darn cute!).

Finally here!

Well, now that I've got a few minutes I thought I'd share all the great news of the birth of MMG. We were blessed that my mom and dad where here to celebrate Christmas and witness (from the hallway) the birth of their first grandbaby. My water broke DURING church on Christmas Eve. We came home to pick up my bag, where I had a small glass of eggnog (booze free of course), then headed to the hospital. We checked in around 6:30 p.m. and VOILA...19 hours later she was here.

My sister and her husband also came to visit already and M's Nana and G-pop (J's parents) are visiting in a couple of weeks.

J is lucky enough to be off work until Saturday the 5th so for the next couple of days we're just hanging out staring at our new little bundle.

For those that are wondering we're calling her M for the most part. Although, Lolly also works its way into the mix. Even when she's 40 years old (dear goodness what a thought) she'll still be our little lolly-pop!
